Farmers do many jobs to cultivate the land:
- they plough the fields to turn the soil,
- they water the soil and fertilise it to add nutrients,
- they sow the seeds,
- they spray the plants with pesticides to stop insects harming the crops,
- they harvest the crops when they are ripe.
